BETT Show 2007, an analysis of the success of Open Source and Edubuntu marketing at the show by Pete Savage of the Ubuntu community
Introduction
This document is designed to be a show of what presence Ubuntu and Open Source software had at the 2007 UK BETT show, how the presence impacted the audience, and what can be done better next time around. The BETT show is the largest Educational Technology show in the UK and in a quote from the website, is also a world leader in this field.
“BETT is the world’s leading educational ICT event, attracting over 600 educational suppliers and over 28000 visitors, and bringing together the global teaching and learning community for four days of innovations and inspirations.” Last year saw a small open source presence, which was definitely built upon this year with at least half a dozen open source projects dotted around the software zone.
